Dan Nicholas Park has 17 covered shelters available for rent. Eleven shelters will accommodate 150 people and six will accommodate 30 people. They are equipped with picnic tables and grills. There is a charge for shelter and picnic tables on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Dan Nicholas does not charge for visiting! We have many features of the park that are free. Other areas of the park can be visited for very small charges.

Dan Nicholas Park was created originally with a gift in 1968 of 330 acres of land from Mr. Dan Nicholas, a local entrepeneur and philanthropist.

Camp ground is nice, but very tight on road and there is only one dump station that you have to maneuver through trees to get too. The site was nice but we had to clean up a lot of debris from a storm the previous day. Carry conceal is permitted in the park which is how it should be. The gate locks at the road at night but they will give you the combination to the lock. The camp ground is on the back side of the park. The play ground at the park is about a acre big. The only thing is it is open to the public during the day and there is a lot of people walking by the camp ground on the path. There was groups of people on the paddle boats smoking weed while I was fishing with the kids. It was a ok visit, I might go back.

Really nice park. Very large and has lots of hiking trails, attractions and sports fields. Attractions are fairly priced, and there is no fee to enter the park. Picnic tables are able to be rented, same with paddle boats on their pond. You can also rent shelters for large parties and picnics. There is a petting zoo, a mini train ride, a carousel, a nature exhibit, a gem sleuce, mini golf, a splash pad and a playground. I would definitely recommend the park.

I love this park! There are so many things to do. Multiple playgrounds for kids of every age, splash pad, train, carousel and more. Some things cost money but the prices are minimal. Pack food and plan to stay awhile. There are plenty of picnic tables so no worries.

Nice park - well maintained and expansive. Playground has good activities and shelters are available to be reserved. Lots of trees. You can also peddle a boat or enjoy some fishing. (Catch an release for Bass)
