Dan Nicholas Park

6800 Bringle Ferry Road

Dan Nicholas Park has 17 covered shelters available for rent. Eleven shelters will accommodate 150 people and six will accommodate 30 people. They are equipped with picnic tables and grills. There is a charge for shelter and picnic tables on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Dan Nicholas does not charge for visiting! We have many features of the park that are free. Other areas of the park can be visited for very small charges.

Dan Nicholas Park was created originally with a gift in 1968 of 330 acres of land from Mr. Dan Nicholas, a local entrepeneur and philanthropist.

My family has been going here for YEARS! Such a fun, family-friendly park. They have everything from gem mining to a mini zoo to pedal boats to a splash pad! Great place to have a family cookout with the picnic shelters they provide. But the best part of it all is that it’s REALLY inexpensive, so if you’re on a budget but still want to have some family fun, this is the place!

This park has it all, for small fees. Tickets range from $0.50 - $2 per person for activities such as train ride, carousel, mini golf, paddle boating, and animal viewing. There are a half dozen playgrounds, a splash pad (summer), walking trails, and a nature center that are free. The park is clean, well staffed, and spacious. Our kids love the black bears, owls, and numerous playgrounds.

Family friendly, and affordable. Plenty of activites to keep kid's interest in a peaceful natural setting. I also agree with previous reviewers, the bathrooms are in need of updating and more cleaning, especially near the playground area. Of note, the mini golf course is ADA friendly. Overall, awesome location, despite the need for bathroom upgrades.

The Dan Nicholas Park is T-totaly awesome!! Wild animals, farm animals, boat rides, merry-go-round, mini golf, train, splash pad and gem mine!!! If you want to have a fun day with your kids, then pack a lunch and head to this park. A ticket for the train, round of mini golf, merry-go-round, and a bucket to pan at the mine is $11.00 the animal areas are an additional dollar or two. So worth the price, and the people working here are awesome, so friendly. They also have gift shops and concession booths for snacks and drinks. There is a bit of walking involved, so drink lots of water!

As someone with4 kids (8yo, 6yo, 4yo, and 20mo) I can say that this place has something for everyone!! We had a fantastic experience and will certainly visit again. The only improvement I recommend is more bathrooms in more convenient spaces. Otherwise it was a great time!!
