DSBG is one of the best kept secrets of Charlotte. Although it's been 6 years since I was there last, my trip there today was great as they have added The Lost Hollow and the Butterfly Bungalow. When you go, be sure to visit the bungalow and speak with Joey. Joey is the bungalow caretaker and knows her stuff. She can tell you about caterpillars, pupae, butterflies, and their plants of choice. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and be sure to hold a butterfly on your finger! One of life's simple pleasures!

My family loved this place! We saw lots of beautiful butterflies, toads, etc. The gardens were nice to walk through, although I think it would be more enjoyable on a cooler day. My kids enjoyed the art projects that were set up. It was hot but running through the fountains in one of the gardens helped. The orchid conservatory was beautiful.

GORGEOUS place! My husband & I spent a fabulous date day (3-4 hrs) leisurely walking amongst the flowers and fountains. But it's also great for families too because there is a butterfly conservatory and mini golf. It looked like there were plans for a more extensive kids area, but it was never completed. Hopefully they'll finish it at some point because it looked amazing - like an elegant fairy tale. I don't think you can bring in food or drinks, but they do sell both there - including a beer garden!

Beautiful place to go with the family or with somebody special as a date. We went during off-peak hours so it was very peaceful but I would also like to go back in the future during one of their events. I have heard great things about these special events they hold, so I definitely plan on coming back!

Great place to go to when they have special events or exhibits going on. We've been there so many times, the garden has now become a common attraction for us featuring the same plants from years before. But it's a great place for those who love plants and gardening. They've also added new structures and improvements to add value to your visit. It's a great option for a family day trip especially for those visiting for the first time.
