Iredell Museums is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, promote and provide learning experiences in culture, heritage, science and the arts. The organization is the product of a merger of the Iredell Museum of Arts and Heritage and the Children's Museum of Iredell County that is bringing together art and artifacts of American heritage, evocative stories of Colonial life in Iredell County, local and unique art, and hands-on children's exhibits to create a new model for museum attractions in the region. The Iredell Museums envision becoming a regional center of creative exploration, teaching and inspiring a community of learners through interactive exhibits, collections, innovative programs and living history.

This is a tiny museum! But good things come in small packages. We visited on a Friday with 4 adults, an 11-yr old, two 5-yr olds, and three 3-yr olds. We came for two hours, had lunch & played in the park, and 6 of us returned for another 2 hours. My 5-yr old wanted to go again today. They have a wide variety of toys. A great many of the toys are STEM oriented. Our whole group enjoyed all of the different robots. We all like building activities and there was no shortage of options, both old and new styles. As others have noted, the staff is friendly, interactive, and informative. If we lived closer, we would definitely have a membership. As it is, $5/ea is a reasonable admission price. We will return!

Great to have this resource here but I’d love to see it really stepped up. Not sure anyone needs to go more than once but i they could do more with traveling exhibits maybe?

There was a lot for the kids to do. It's all very 'hands on'. They dug for 'dinosaur bones' in sand, examined a mummy, and did crafts. The workers went out of their way to show us everything. We had a great time!

Great museum for kids to learn about science. I really liked the Egyptian mummy on display.

It was still under total reorganization the time I went. That was quite a while ago. I know it is 2 floors and there was a nice spiral staircase, but I'm not sure what changes were made to this. I do plan on returning in the near future.
