The noted explorer, archaeologist, anthropologist, paleontologist, and part-time taxidermist from the University of Chicago, Professor Duffer A. Hacker, led two expeditions to the Fogclift Islands off the coast of South America in the 1920’s. The purpose of these expeditions was to search for ancient gold and diamond mines rumored to be hidden on the Islands. Professor Hacker’s first surprise was the discovery of an old mining train built by the Germans during the First World War. Take the mining car* to the top of the mountain and follow Professor Hacker as you putt your way through an adventurous expedition to find gold and diamonds. Also check out the go-Carts, bumper boats, and arcade that the professor discovered on his expedition.

Fun spot for families. We decided on the Diamond course because of the heat and an earlier reviewer mentioned more shade on that one. (Nice shade throughout!) The go-cart racing was a big hit for us, too. Perfect proximity along the Crystal Coast and when we went during the day, the crowd was just right.Lots of smiles!

This is our favorite mini golf place on Emerald Island in NC. They really keep the courses clean, well lit and well maintained. The course is fun, but very challenging. There are two courses to choice from. You get to ride a train to the top of the mountain to the first hole. The last time we were there the gold course was closed for maintenance and that was a bummer because we played the diamond course the time before that. The price jumped from $9/person to $10.50/person in one year. That's a little steep for mini golf.

Great place. Fun for whole family. Two different courses to choose from. Both are 18 holes. Would recommend the diamond course on a hot day. Diamond does have holes with lots of shade.

My family has been here several times and it has failed to disappoint. There are 2 courses to choose from, so the experience can change from visit to visit. It's not an overly challenging mini golf course, so a hack like myself can get a low score. :) The go-kart track has an assortment of turns, and while we were there got about 20 laps, so it felt worth the money. The staff is friendly and courteous. Be warned, it can feel as hot as the sun surface during the summer. There are shaded places, but they are few and far between.

We came here with our grandmother and we were impressed with how handicap accessible this place is. They take you in a train to the top of the mine and then you work your way down. Every hole had 2 access points for wheelchairs and ramps everywhere. She had no problems getting around!
